Class Descriptions

While our classes are categorized + described in a way that each student has the best idea of what the class entails, we encourage our teachers to find their own interpretation of each description. Vinyasa refers to a breath-synchronized movement, where each pose is matched with a breath. As a vinyasa studio, things would get stale pretty quickly if we had one sequence to follow, so each teachers interpretation is pulled from their own experiences, backgrounds, and personality. We recommend that students try a variety of classes to see which teachers they vibe with. 


power vinyasa

Our power class is for those looking for a faster pace class. Expect to focus on areas like your core, chatarungas, and building strength in all areas of the body. 


Mindful vinyasa

Our Mindful Vinyasa is a slower alternative to our power flow. In this class you can expect to hold poses a bit longer and explore breath to movement on a deeper level. Mindful Vinyasa is a moving meditation that helps you build strength while letting go on your mat. Please note that slower does not mean easier. 


hip hop vinyasa

A power vinyasa class with a twist. We'll flow to Jay Z, Nicki, Kendrick, Chance and more, while we move mindfully with intention and strength. Please note that music is unedited and may contain explicit language. We often set themes for our hip hop classes, so be sure to check our instagram @mirepoixstudio for updates! 


Sunrise flow

An energizing and uplifting class for the early bird. The sunrise flow works on breath to movement while building up to a peak energetic pose that's sure to wake you up and have you ready to go for the day ahead. A balanced blend of mindfulness and strength, and better than a cup of coffee.  


Yin (Deep Release)

Yin yoga targets the deep connective tissues of the body (vs. the superficial tissues) and the fascia that covers the body. Yin helps regulate the flow of energy in the body. Yin postures are mainly on the floor and the majority of the postures are held anywhere from 45 seconds to 5 minutes. Students can expect a 15 minute vinyasa practice to heat the body and warm the muscles followed by 60 minutes of yin.  


guided meditation

This guided meditation uses breath as a tool for focus, mental clarity, and increased energy. Different breath techniques are used to steady the mind and create a deep sense of peace. This practice takes you inward to connect deeply to your center. We use different techniques like mantra and visualization to release stress and negative energy and reconnect to self love.
